This high-quality 9″ cold-cast bronze statue beautifully honors St. Junipero Serra, Franciscan missionary, tireless evangelist, and founder of the mission system that helped establish the Catholic faith in California.
Rich in symbolism, the statue depicts Saint Serra standing aboard a ship, recalling the long journey that carried him from his native Spain to the New World. In one hand he holds the Cross of Christ, the heart of his missionary vocation; in the other, a mission church, representing the communities of faith he labored to establish.
